Summer Learning Series Week 1

Welcome to our weekly summer learning series! You will find learning activities that range in subjects such as writing, reading, math, social studies and science. You can choose to do all the activities or pick your favorite.  The goal is to keep your child engaged in learning which will prevent summer learning loss! Stay tuned for the our weekly summer learning series every Monday during the summer months!

Week 1:

Monday: (Writing)  Describe what you think are the “lazy, hazy, crazy” days of summer.

Tuesday:  (Writing)  Create a new version of the Star Spangled Banner. Share your version with a family member.

Wednesday: (Reading, Social Studies) Why do we celebrate July 4th? Do some research and share  your information with a friend.

Thursday: (Math) Go out with your parents to a restaurant. Once the order is placed look at the menu and estimate the total cost of the bill. Compare your estimate with the actual cost.

Friday: ( Writing and Science) Write a weather forecast report for today as if you were a newscaster. Report the weather to your family and friends.
