Measure here, there and everywhere!

Mar 29, 2011 by Yolanda Fontanez-Coleman | Math

While measurement is an important skill for kids to learn and understand – it’s also a fun engaging pastime and one of the most fun topics in math!  Playing measurement games with kids is a great way to build on, or peak their interest in measuring. Kids will love measuring things in your home and classroom. They can use a variety of tools to measure like cubes, paper clips, blocks and so much more!

Here is a link to a site that offers some fun games, as well as a list of books (k-2nd) that will introduce your child to the concept of measurement, expand their vocabulary and teach them how to measure things in their own world.

Enjoy measuring and exploring with your child!
