As part of Team Tutor’s tutoring program, we provide tutoring in executive function skills. Our tutors work in collaboration with the student’s classroom teachers and parents to empower students to build strong executive functioning skills.
As a way to educate and empower our parents and students, we have compiled a list of resources to help deepen their understanding and explore various tools and resources to support their learning journey:
Books and Guides
- “Smart but Scattered” by Peg Dawson and Richard Guare: Strategies for building executive skills in children and teens.
- “The Executive Function Guidebook” by Roberta Strosnider and Valerie Saxton Sharpe: Practical tools for educators.
Apps and Tools
Websites and Online Resources
- Understood.org: Resources for understanding and supporting students with learning and thinking differences.
- ADDitude Magazine: Articles and tools focused on ADHD and executive function challenges.
Many students in grades K-12 face struggles with executive functioning skills. However, with consistent and effective tutoring strategies, students can overcome their deficits. Our tutors provide students with the tools they need to navigate their academic and personal lives more effectively. Developing these skills fosters independence, resilience, and confidence, setting students up for long-term success.
