Current Events Resource for Children

Sep 16, 2013 by Yolanda Fontanez-Coleman | Learning Resources, On-Line Educational Resources, Reading

I know many parents that do not allow their children to watch the news. As a parent of young children,  I do not allow my children to watch the news as often it is filled with tragic events.   However, I find it important for my children to learn about current events that occur around their community, country and the world. My new favorite child friendly site, Tween Tribune,  allows children from grades Kindergarten through High School to learn about current events in a protected environment.

Tween Tribune is a daily news site for kids, tweens and teens. Students can find current, compelling and interesting news through a kid-friendly and safe platform. Students are able to post comments on articles which promotes interaction and engagement. All comments are monitored and moderated by educators before they can be published.

Check out Tween Tribune and let us know what your children think about this site!
