Why Are Assessments Important?

Why are diagnostic assessments so important? Why do you offer them?

Diagnostic assessments are essential tools that we use in our tutoring firm. They are used to diagnose  and outline a student’s strengths and needs within a particular subject. These tools are norm-referenced assessments which refers to the process of comparing one test taker to his peers. These tools help us design the tutoring program for each student.

I am concerned that my child has a math weakness, will this determine if  my child is on grade level?

If you are concerned about your child’s academic levels, I would recommend scheduling a diagnostic assessment for your child. Our math diagnostic assessment will give you a thorough break down in the following areas: Numeration, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, Data, Analysis and Probability, Mental Computation & Estimation, Addition & Subtraction, Multiplication & Division, Problem Solving and Applications. The results of the math diagnostic assessment will give you a solid idea about his grade level in every strand for math.

What are the steps in getting a diagnostic assessment?

Once you register for a diagnostic assessment, one of our evaluators will contact you to schedule a date and time for the assessment. The length of time varies for each student however it ranges from 1 hour to 1.5 hours. Once the assessment is complete you will have an academic consultation with our director regarding the results. This assessment and consultation will give you the answers you need to know in regard to your child’s needs and strengths.
