The Power of Learning Through Games

Did you know that a lot of learning can be done through games? Games are a great way to motivate a student, reinforce a skill and while having fun in the process. Here are some simple games that you can play today to reinforce learning all while having some laughs and spending some quality time with your child.

Tutor

 MEMORY:

This game is a multipurpose game that can reinforce a bunch of skills. You can play memory game to review math facts or to learn sight words. You can also match vocabulary with their definitions. Memory can be played solo, with a partner or in a group. This game can also be used for all grade levels. Go ahead grab a deck of index cards and reinforce some some facts while having fun!

Jeopardy:

This is an excellent interactive learning game. This game works well when studying vocabulary, social studies, sciences or world languages. This game can help reinforce information for a presentation as well as prepping for a test. Grab a few friends and get ready for a challenging game of Jeopardy!

Bingo:

Bingo is played not only as a social game but you can bet your child has played bingo in the classroom as well. Bingo can be used for math, reading, spelling and vocabulary. In math, students can write down math subtraction facts on their board while you read out the differences. In reading, students can fill out their bingo boards with vocabulary words, while you read out their meanings. This versatile game can reinforce information for all subjects.

Implement games during your study sessions at home or just to reinforce skills that your child may need extra support. These learning games help a student stay motivated in learning. They will also enjoy the bonding time that it creates with you and them. Happy Learning!
