As our world continues to navigate online learning with our children at home, Team Tutor promises to provide valuable resources to help support at home instruction. Our team has compiled some of our favorite learning resources. These resources range from online games, learning resources, educational videos or experiments. There is something here for everyone.
Online Resources:
The Reading Eggs program focuses on a core reading curriculum of skills and strategies essential for sustained reading success. Reading Eggs was created by a team of educators and it is designed to make reading fun through games, songs and rewards. This site is subscription based.
Khan Academy provides instructional videos, practice exercises and a learning dashboard for students. This program includes all subject areas for kids in grades Kindergarten through College level. It is a free program and is a great learning tool for students as well as an excellent resource for tutors and teachers.
The Exploratorium is based out of San Francisco, California and is a public learning laboratory exploring the world through science, art, and human perception. The focus of this site is to create inquiry-based experiences that transforms learning worldwide. This site is great for science lovers and those just wanting to supplement their science knowledge.
The NASA website’s For Students includes a free catalog of articles, activities, videos, and games for students in grades K–12 on topics related to STEM, aeronautics, and space exploration. This program is a wonderful addition to any online learning program.
Project Gutenberg is a great free resource that will enhance your child’s library. It contains over 45,000 free ebooks including an extensive collection of classic children’s literature.
Xtra Math is a free online program that helps students master basic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This is a great tool to help your child build math fluency & automaticity.
How To Smile contains over 3,500 resources for science and math. The science and math activities are hands on and interactive and are great to supplement any online learning program.
